Khenpo Sonam will begin teaching Rigdzin Karma Lingpa’s ‘Self-liberation: An Introduction to Seeing with Naked Awareness’ from the cycle of Termas called ‘The Profound Teaching of Self-liberation in the Primordial State of Peaceful and Wrathful Deities’. This is the same cycle of Termas that include the Bardo Thodrol, or ‘Liberation through Hearing in the Intermediate State’ (The Tibetan Book of the Dead). This text by Guru Rinpoche via Karma Lingpa is an important work for understanding the view of Dzogchen (The Great Perfection), “generally regarded as the highest and the most esoteric teaching of the Buddha.” Wednesday’s session will include an Introduction to the text, the Oral Transmission of the same, and a Tsog Puja.
